Seriously, they're not even human. They're the fleshy embodiment of Awesome and Luvvy Goodness.
They were in town yesterday, on their way up north, and decided to take me out to dinner. We had exchanged emails in the days prior, and I told them I wanted to talk about something kinda serious. So most of the time I spent with them they were trying their best to get me to open up, and timid little me never did. We eventually started talking about the support group I've been to once or twice, and all the variation of trans people there. My step-mom then out-of-the-blue says that she knows someone that has a relative who "had a sex change", and that she is a well-adjusted and happy person.
There we were, in the middle of a mostly empty restaurant, talking about SRS. I almost passed out.

So they pretty much know I have the tran, and
they don't care. They said over and over again that they just want me to be happy, and no matter what, they'll support me.
Before they left for the night I gave them my copy of
She's Not There (Jenny can probably explain things SO much better than I can), and hugged them both as tightly as I could. After Dad left to go warm up their truck, my step-mom smiled and asked me "So is it going to be Natalie now?" I smiled back through my tears and squeaked out "Maybe."

We hugged again and they drove away.
You still cannot knock the smile off of my face.

I just had to share this awesome moment with everybody. Suddenly things don't seem so scary anymore.
