To Leave or Not to Leave the Community?

It's my opinion and that's that and this is my sounding board. Feel free to disagree, just don't be a pious ->-bleeped-<-. One thing really on my mind concerns several people I know who successfully transitioned and then, often without warning, pull the "I'm a woman (or a man) and I'm leaving the trans 'community'" card.
Expect to see me write more about this even more later as I sort out my thoughts and seek to better understand this, but right now I am trying to understand how people can come to this conclusion. After all, at least the way I see it, I'm a woman too. Yes, I was born designated as male at birth, however I am a woman and live a woman's life. That doesn't grant me my pass to "leave" any community. In fact, I don't think I ever really joined a community.
