Seems some US general type has been sounding off about European armies. He claimed the reasons the Dutch army failed in Srebrenica was because homosexualty made it ineffective.

Personally, I get rather amused when a thug startes calling everyone else wimps, especially when the organisation he is running has a continuous record of utter failure, human rights abuses, nepotism and costs its tax payers more than UK tax payers pay for the NHS.

I hope, some Iraqi woman, as she scrapes through the rubble of her home, thinking about her dead children and her destroyed life can perhaps find some solace in the thought that her tormentors are a bunch of fools.

QuoteHe argued that since the end of the Cold War, European militaries had changed and he concluded "there was no longer a need for an active combat capability".

'Totally off-target'

This "socialisation" process, Gen Sheehan said, "included open homosexuality" and led to "a focus on peacekeeping operations because they did not believe the Germans were going to attack again or the Soviets were coming back".

Srebnenitza was because the politicians wouldn't let the Dutch soldiers do what they wanted to, and prevent a massacre.
If I was him though I would shut up or the Canadians might ask whether it is safer standing next to the enemy, given the number of their people who have died as a result of the US Army not being able to shoot straight.
