I'm in Indiana. I was born in Colorado, but due to some cruel irony, my family moved here when I was a year old.
Pros- ...what pros? Oh, well I guess my college is decently snazzy, at least by Indiana standards. We have some pretty amazing professors, which is enough of a boost to keep me sane until I graduate and get my behind OUT of here.
Cons- It's closed-minded (more "ignorance to the point of insult" than "outright, unabated bigotry"-- it's hard to attack someone if you're too oblivious to realize they exist), it's boring, and the weather is on crack. I was not made for Indiana.
...I plan to move out west once I finish college. I'm looking at Oregon, Washington, and Colorado, mostly. Maybe the east coast, if out west falls through-- but I'd like to go out west if I can. Wherever I can find a good teaching job and a university with a good master's program. Good open-minded places with decent climates.
