Congress may soon be considering legislation that would force schools and business to hire transgendered employees, including teachers.

The Employment Non-Discrimination Act would require every state and local government and business with 15 or more employees to employ and affirm transgendered people.

Already there is stiff opposition to the measure. The Traditional Values Coalition has launched a campaign to derail the bill, believing the legislation restricts religious freedoms and is harmful to children

Why just those with 15+?  I mean, I'm reading this that there isn't a quota of having at least one TG, but that businesses/governments would consider them.  Why should smaller groups get off the hook?  I'm guessing that device may be to "protect" family businesses (which are inclined have a de facto exclusion of many races/ethnicities).

The website of CBN seems to feature the 700 club, so it's sort of expected the article would show the obligatory conservative christian complaint on the issue.

@Kaelin

Quoterequire every state and local government and business with 15 or more employees to employ and affirm transgendered people.

The likelyhood that a smaller business would be able to find and employ someone who admits to being transgender would be slim to none. So do they close shop or use reverse discrimination to fill the quota?

CBN is Pat Robertson's network, they're famous for saying outrageous things. A quick check of the FaceBook fan club for the 700 Club shows some 7,800 fans. Not really a huge following. The Official Avatar Movie fan page shows 1,558,751 fans, or some 200 times as many, to give this a little perspective (and it didn't win the Oscar for best picture).

I'm guessing they are not playing in reality - but they believe in invisible sky gods, so how could they? - but the standard cut off in Federal Legislation for small businesses is 50, not 15. I doubt this law is any different.
