What's up with all of this legislation?

I understand a lot of legislation has been enacted as of late citing a vague wage gap, but I am unsure where to find it. I just can't find any jobs where women are paid one wage and men another for identical work.
Now, I understand their net incomes are different, but then that is because of fewer hours worked, different majors, and numerous other factors unrelated to a vague patriarchal organizations bent on some emotional, irrational war on womankind.
I'm so confused.

Women paid less, just one year out of college, with the same qualification.

Oftentimes men are more willing to sacrifice quality of life for money.

Women! I'm not a member of the patriarchy, so I couldn't care less about harassment or workplace negativity. No, the oppressive men would be out of the picture, so I'd pay people what they'd take and rack in the profits.

Don't we call this capitalism?  And in the last few years there have been bidding wars taking some jobs as much as 25%30% lower wages that were paid to person holding it before.

Tragically though, it often takes good people, and you do have to pay them.

You have the freedom to start your own company and the responsibility to do so if you can do better.

It takes more brains and drive (not to mention interpersonal skills) to start and run a successful company than is demonstrated here.
