Marie France is a glamorous rock and pop singer of transsexual history who's been famous for her music, acting, and modeling here in France since the 1970's.

Her current musical project is an hommage to Brigitte Bardot, France's Marilyn Monroe. Instead of putting a song before the jump, I found this amazing video of Marie France doing the prologue of Bardot's most famous movie, Le Mépris, which is just about the greatest scene in the canon of French film. The movie's been called "the greatest work of art produced in postwar Europe," and all the theatre people I hang out with here know the scene by heart.
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." Oscar Wilde
