theres gotta be better ways out there then just wearing a scarf to hide your adams apple. anyone have any tips on that? I posted something earlier about hips and I realise now that my adams apple is probably an even bigger problem. so damn big...

6+ months on estrogen and my adam's apple is slightly smaller, already being very small on its own. It seems that as I've raised my voice by retraining the muscles it has pulled up and back into my throat. Some fat will help obscure it, too, but if you have a giant apple, you'll probably want the shave.

well damn I got a while for that... I definately won't be doing hormones for at the very least a few more years.  what do you mean by "the shave", Autumn?

That would be the 'Tracheal Shave' where they slice off part of the front to make it not stick out forward so much. If I had the $$$ I would do this too. Search it on your computer and you will get lots of info on the subject.

Depending on the size you can use contouring powders to hide it.

Every girl has here body issues and this can be a doozy. I've got a pretty prominent adam's apple myself. I think that, as with any physical flaw, you just have to do your best with it. With care, you can do pretty well, though.

Illusion and distraction can get you a long way with this. I hardly ever wear scarves, but I own a lot of turtlenecks. High neck tops are tricky in warm weather, but it can be done. I've even got a turtleneck halter top. I think turtleneck t-shirts are pretty cool, actually.

Wear long hair. That way you've got at least 3 directions covered. Wear clothes and accessories that call the eye away from the neck.

I find that I can push/pull in my apple to where it retreats mostly into my neck. To it I have to straighten my next a bit, but with practice it stays fairly well. It's kind of good posture thing. The only problem is it evidently protrudes at times. Still, with enough practice, I think you can train yourself to reposition it such as to minimize it considerably.
