Ive been doing covers and I love being able to sing songs on key and enjoy it so much! Just wondering is it possible to change your voice that much to start singing female songs and make them sound nice?

Here is the song, Ive done covers of this (not posted on the net haha) and everybody I show says it's sounds awesome!

Anyways lets me knowssss. Please listen into the song for about 1:30min. I sound just like him without the huskyness.

I started singing rather young, mostly at church. Quickly got asked to sing in the choir

Later I started playing in rock bands. First I'd hang in the back ground on bass guitar. I had two Rickenbacker 4001 basses... One black and one natural

Well... The basses disappeared along with allot of other stuff... So All I had left was a cheesy acoustic guitar

One of my room mates that was in a top forty band overheard my depressed lil' ass playing guitar and singing

Suddenly I was in a top forty band doing lead vocals. I had to get over my stage fright rather quickly plus be able to switch up singing styles

This included doing male voiced songs then switching to female voiced songs

I mostly enjoyed doing Blondie, No Doubt and Patsy Cline but several others were great fun also

So what am I getting at? Yes you can develop a female singing voice...
Actually it will help with your female voice in general

Everybody should do kareoke.  It has been a huge help for my voice.  I don't try to Aretha or Olivia NJ, but Carley Simon, Tina Turner and some others are much easier.

Also Steely Dan and Elton John are in that same range.

I sometimes joke that I can't get high enough for Elton or low enough for Tina.
It's easier to change your sex and gender in Iran, than it is in the United States.  Way easier.

Please read my novel, Dragonfly and the Pack of Three, available on Amazon - and encourage your local library to buy it too! We need realistic portrayals of trans people in literature, for all our sakes

Yes - I have a natural contralto voice. It never brok properly for reasons which I've already posted elsewhere so i'll not bore you again. I've even sung female operatic roles when I was younger. When I get a moment I'll post a youtube vid.

My voice is pretty much in Joan Baez / Maddy Prior (steeleye span)  / Judith Durham (Seekers) territory - or if you want more modern examples I can do pretty much anything La Roux / KT Tunstall / Lily Allen can do.

Tell you what - tomorrow i'll sing a cover of Lily Allen's Not Fair and if it comes out OK I'll post it here...

So watch this space...

I'd like to sing, thinking on paying for lessons  so I can try and refine a singing voice :D But I think I need voice therapy first....

Singing... I'm not sure that'll be happening anytime soon for me. My voice is not so bad, but I would not dare try and sing :D.
