Transgenders in anime!

Yeah, I love anime/manga! But I do wish there were more like Hourou Musuko, which focus on trans issues. I like it even more because I relate so well with Takatsuki-kun. But I just love anime/manga in general, so I'm fine with it, even though there aren't that many truely trans characters.

Hourou Musuko is great. Someone here recommended it, and I read all 87 chapters (it's ongoing, scheduled for official translating in December, and green-lighted for an anime) in about 2 weeks. It's really good, although it gets sidetracked sometimes.

Wow, I can't believe I've never heard of Hourou Musuko! Much reading to do now 

I do have a fairly large anime and manga collection (way more gender bender manga than anime), so I thought I'd share some worthwhile time-wasters! I'll try not to mention those already covered (like Ranma 1/2 - which as a total geek aside I was watching 20 years ago when you had to get friends/contacts in japan to tape it on VHS and mail it over. Finding a translation was another story!)

You forgot Family Compo thats a really good one.
Mixes everything MTF FTM and crossdress.  Very well i might add as not to degrade.

I'll add my two cents to this thread as I don't see these titles being mentioned yet...

Tsukiyo no fromage is about a boy who got changed into a girl when he was kissed by a girl in a dream. When he woke up, he was in a mysterious world and a female! The girls in this manga are really cute, its definately worth checking out especially if you are into cute images.

Happiness is an anime about students who practiced magic in school. One of the characters is gay and crossdresses as a female to to be close to someone s(he) likes. In an OVA this character gets turned into a proper female due to a mix up in magic spell. The end result of this mix up is rather hilarious! A great laugh...
