Ceara Sturgis, a senior at Wesson Attendance Center in Wesson, had already known for several months that the annual yearbook would not contain her senior portrait. However, when she glanced through her copy of the publication, Sturgis and her mother, Veronica Rodriguez, were shocked to discover that references to her had been completely omitted.
"They didn't even put her name in it," Rodriguez tells the Jackson Free Press on April 26. "It's like she's nobody there, even though she's gone to school there for 12 years."
