In another shocking wave of anti-homosexual rhetoric, a Mississippi school district has violated a judge's ruling by removing all references to a lesbian student who earlier this year sued for the right to wear a tuxedo in her senior picture. Ceara Sturgis, a senior at Wesson Attendance Center in Wesson, had already known for several months that the annual yearbook would not contain her senior portrait. However, when she glanced through her copy of the publication, Sturgis and her mother, Veronica Rodriguez, were shocked to discover that references to her had been completely omitted.

"They didn't even put her name in it," Rodriguez tells the Jackson Free Press on April 26. "It's like she's nobody there, even though she's gone to school there for 12 years."
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." Oscar Wilde

I didn't think the school would find a way to dig itself a deeper hole, but it's managed to do that.

That's actually a pretty good picture -- it looks better than what I have in my yearbooks.
