So, I finally got a job (yay) and I start next Monday, but I don't know what to do in regards to me being trans. I have no huge obvious signs, other than my voice, that I'm a girl, but at the same time I dont look completely like a boy either so people are going to ask.
When this comes up what do you think I should do?

-Tell them I'm a girl (& come out when I start T).
-Tell them I'm trans.
-Or go stealth and say I'm a boy.

My problem with the last 2 is the toilet situation, and when I talk (I can't make my voice deep AT ALL).
Plus it's a call centre so it's not like I can try and never say anything.

Also I'm looking at starting T in sept/oct so trying to pass as male without T wouldn't be really long term.

Hey mate wouldn't worry about it really, it's kinda rude to ask in the first place so i doubt many will.
If they do i'd just go with saying your trans but you haven't gone through anything yet. That should sort out the bathroom situation and besides you'll get to find out who the decent people are before you commit to making friends with people.

Good luck with your job

I think you would be surprised how easy it is for people to forget about your voice sounding female if you correct them in the very beginning and say you are a guy. That's what I did when I started college. I only had a few months until I started T and I was passing a lot but my voice usually gave me away. If you give out other male signals and correct a few people if they call you she or ask if you are a guy or a girl you will be surprised how quickly they accept that. The more you complicated you make it with "oh I'm trans, I'm not on hormones yet but I will be soon" the less likely people are to get it. Just my opinion based on my experiences of course.
Call me a cheat but I make my own fate.

You're a boy, right?  So be a boy!  In mind, body and spirit.  It's nobody's business what you have between your legs, so let people think what they want--it'll drive them crazy.  I've never disclosed my status, ever, even when I wasn't passing as well as I do now.  Sure, people wondered but I never caved, I just let them go on thinking/believing what they wanted.  Just because we are trans, we are not obligated to tell everyone we meet, and if anyone finds out, who cares!  It is then when you find out the true character of people.

What did you apply as?

I'd say go stealth (or try to) in that situation if you're planning to stay long term.

Just pee in a cubicle. Walk in like you own the place, do your thing, and go.

Your employer will probably find out when you present them with ID and such, but that's no reason to tell your co-workers. Just tell HR "Yeah, my ID says female but I live as male", and see what they say.

Take into account - T takes a while to kick in and start changing things. It won't all change overnight.

I applied as female because I've changed my name but not my title so I'm still under Miss (that's getting changed soon though).
So if I decide to go stealth I need to ring my manager before Monday and just let her know the situation and to use male pronouns etc.

I know T does take a while, I think it's more psychological, I know once I start T I'll feel a lot better trying to go stealth knowing that I'm on T and getting changes, even if no one else notices them for a while.

As far as I'm aware you can tick whichever title you like. Doctors letters are required for things like passport and drivers license, but I had no problems with applying for a bank account as Mr Ryan.

I'm also registered at the job centre, dentist and orthadontist as male and my railcard is male.
