Diego Sanchez left this comment in one for the diary Rep. Barney Frank Says ENDA Will Win In The House is the Legislative Assistant for Rep. Barney Frank. He is also a trans man.

By Diego Sanchez

2. Congressman Frank was discussing concessions that were/are made in the bill where it stands today.

NOT concded, though, are workplace protection vs discrimination across the SO and GI spectrum - everyone's included.

Here is what folks are not not understanding, judging from what I was able to scan in the comments above here.  Facts, in language that people who visit PHB should know.  If not, ask someome, even me:

    1. ENDA would not preclude people who are transitioning or transgender from using the bathroom at work.  It would require employers to make reasonable accommodations for transgender/transitioning employees.

    2. Employers could not force people transitioning or transgender people to use the "wrong" restroom and no new construction is required under ENDA.

    3. People transitioning would not have the right in ENDA to SUE over use of the "right" bathroom when occupied, and reasonable accommodations for a transitioning employee would be required in ENDA.
