Watched the above documentary on More 4 last night and have mixed feelings about it.    I saw a lot of parallels with me in relation to life, rejection and transition but there were some parts of Alexis's attitude to herself and transition which bothered me greatly.   Although we did not see the ins and outs of her therapy some of the things said in the documentary made me think that she might not of got treatment outside of the Beverley Hills bubble.   In particular, I was concerned when she said she saw herself as part man, part woman and part something else, that she wanted surgery without HRT, she wanted to transition outside the Harry Benjemin standards of care and her close association to the world of the gay drag queen.  I was especially concerned when she deliberately started the rumour that her transition was a hoax.

I suspect that she was having doubts at the end of the film due to her unwillingness to complete the documentary.

I for one do not want to see myself as part man after transition.   Currently, by a trick of genetics I am currently trapped in a male body but following transition I will be a woman not something inbetween.   I certainly wouldn't joke about my transition it is extremely serious to me and not a laughing matter.   I also know that surgery can only do so much.   Hormones are an integral part of my transition vital not just for physical changes but for my psychological well being.

Anyone else see the film and have any comments?
