I have a question which was brought to me by a statement a user made.

In Montreal the house itself, are you alone, or bunked with someone?
At the hospital (question as well)

I asked on IRC no one knew.

I don't remember exactly, but at the recovery house it depends on which room you get, some are 1/patient, some 2 to a room.

and I have no clue about the hospital.

I was there when SarahR was there, at one point there was 9 of us. there is rooms with 2 beds. There are crazy busy right now so there should be roomies.  At the hospital it is usually 2 girls on surgery day. And you end up in the same recovery room.

I think ill request it!

but the one bed rooms have no bathroom, you have to use the house washrooms. Mind you I never woke up at night and saw anyone naked scooting to the washroom.

ps. there is like only 4 english television channels, everything else is in french.

and watchout for Allan, he will make you laugh even if it hurts to laugh. :)

loool I heard the same about Maurice,

I think I can manage scooting across the hall to go to the bathroom vs. having someone beside me.

From my experiences,
a) do not get pads with wings , when you get home use panty liners (thinner and more flexible)
b) invest in *alot* of lube
c) get one of those neck cushions to sit on alot more comfy then that stupid rubber tube they give you
d) and when it comes time for presurgery prep, shave really good (you do not want the nurse shaving you, yikes!)

My room was a good one (205). Great size, but no view. It's nice and quiet except for the ice machine which sounds like a haunted house noise. I recommend that one if you are able to request a room. I just got lucky.

Some of the rooms are small and 2 are double occupancy.

205 thats the one by the emergency exit, if so that was the room I  was in. Yes the ice maker woke me up the first night and I was like who fell down the stairs. It's loud at first.

I wasn't given a choice and I shared a room with someone both in the hospital and the recovery house.  Neither was a problem, I got along great with my roommate.  I think if you request it, you can get a single room in the recovery house.  As for the hospital, everyone I know of has a roommate, he does 2 GRSs/day and that would be you two.  Supposedly the one by the window has surgery first, but I don't know if that is the case all the time.

I had my own room. I know a couple of ppl had roomies, but I think most of the rooms are single rooms -- you can request to just be in a room by yourself. I think they ask you. They usually try to use the double rooms if you have a friend or family staying with you at the place.
