Hi all..

I seem to lurk around in the fashion threads a lot lol

Ok so I have a quick question I want to ask. I can't really explain it all right here because me and my brother are about to watch The Simpsons but later I can edit or post again in this topic more information

So ok. In a nutshell, lately I've been thinking about myself for once in my life and I'm not letting my dad get in the way of my choices any more. He has got in the way of a lot of things in my life and I've tried obeying my parents and I obey my mom, but my dad can get so out of hand sometimes that if I obeyed everything he said, I'd have no life. Me and my mom agreed we both wanna do something to my hair to play with it. One of the things I decide I wanna do with it is change it's shade.

I've decided I want to take out the black dye and go blonde. I'm going to see if there's a way I can take the black out of my hair without harming it too much. My natural hair color is a dark blonde so if I dyed it blonde and it starts to grow in it won't look as bad

Anyway, there is a certain shade of blonde I'm looking for and it seems kind of hard to find

Gamers, try not to laugh too hard from what I'm about to show, but I now want this shade of blonde really badly

I'm going to show a picture of the hair color I want. Here it is http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c315/yomamafat32/img_bleu53.jpg and http://www.freewebs.com/outerheavenresistance/Gear%20Site%20pics/LIQUID%20SNAKE%20COLLAGE.jpg (ignore that side picture on the second one. It's too cartoony to make a judge on it I think)

I've looked on the internet on Clairol.com and Loreal.com for the shade I'm looking for and I can't quite find it. Some of the shades either look too light or too golden. His hair in the pictures seem to be more of half and half. A little gold but mostly light blonde or something...It's hard to describe

Uhm...the reason I posted this is..I know this will sound lame but..any suggestions? I can't really afford to go to a hairdresser or salon. If I could it would be no problem but I have to do this at home for now. I'm just wondering if anyone could help...somehow.

The help I'm looking for really is if anyone can pin point what shade that is. I found a shade that is most likely the shade I'm looking for on Clairol.com but I'm still uncertain

Looks quite close to Loreal Honey Blonde...
The thing is though; it's an animated picture without a lot of details (in other words: poor graphics) so it's hard to find the exact colour if the hair doesn't look natural.

Other's that semi fit: Loreal Light Auburn.... Revlon dark ash blonde... Wella Dark Blonde/Lt. Ash Blonde Frosted...
Then again, it's hard to determine how the colour will come out after you take the black out of your hair (really depends on the method you'll use too)... If you bleach... Then orange might become your new cool.

I heard that it turns orange after bleaching it...so I'm gonna look to see if there's another way I can take the color out so that if I do dye it blonde, it'll actually come out blonde and not some other weird color

And I'll see what shade Loreal Honey Blonde looks like. I haven't seen it yet

When I have more time, I'll look for more pictures of that same character and hopefully I can find a clearer picture of his hair

I'd say what you are looking for is honey/golden blonde too. Personally I'm platinum blonde coloring it ebony black, and I've read that it could be complicated to go from a very dark color and get it totally blonde. I would go to a hair salon and ask for advice or do it all there, if you do it.

Apparently, I'm a honey blonde - I'm redder than your desired colour though.

Pica Pica, that color is extremely close to the color I'm looking for

And I've decided that throughout the Summer I'm going to just use really cleansing and harsh color stripping shampoo to get the color out less harmful than if I used bleach. I'm gonna wait til the end of Summer or until my hair color at least fades back close to my natural color then I'm gonna go from there. If I still have to bleach it, at least I won't have to bleach it as many times as if I had black hair still. My natural hair color is like a really dark blonde. Borderline really light brown. It's hard to describe. So hopefully if I can get it back to my natural color it won't be as hard to dye that light blonde

And I hope that with enough shampooing and treatment that I can get it done by the time September or so rolls around

Good idea. Bleaching out black doesn't work nearly as well as you'd hope.

If that black is a packet permanent, you may have to grow it out.

Bleaching out permanent black dye is called a "chemical haircut", if you get my drift.

Be prepared for it to go orange. If you keep bleaching, it'll eventually go translucent in places, feel like chewing gum, and dissolve off. It's not nice.

I'd really, really recommend at least talking to hair colour specialist person. Black dye is notoriously difficult to get rid of.

If you're going to DIY it, TEST A CHUNK FIRST. Seriously.

If you're going to mix your own bleach (it's cheaper, and tweakable), don't forget to use a toner afterwards. A blue-ish toner can help nerf the orange shade after bleaching.

I'm gonna wait until my hair color returns back to its normal shade or at least til it fades close to my natural color

All I know is that before I bleach it or whatever I have to do to it, I'm gonna consult a hair color specialist first along with treating my hair with extra moisturizing hair care stuff so that it's prepared for the bleaching and whatnot

I few months delay but..until then maybe I can concentrate on losing weight and whatnot ^^
