I used to get really angry when people talked behind my back mainly my 'family'. Because I trusted them and always thought that you know if they had a problem with me they could say it to my face, but instead they talk behind me back and they really suck about it because in my room which was suppose to be a game room originally I can hear everything they say.

I've just stopped listening afterall if it's said behind my back it's not meant to be said to me and if it's not meant to be said to me then they have no plans of telling me what the problem is so there's no reason to care. All I do by stressing myself out over their stupidity is make things harder on myself.

If it does get too bad I go on a walk/run until I feel better, but I very rarely let it get to me anymore.

I tend to feel angry for a bit, then brush it off. I find life too short for grudges. :s But thats me. xD

When people say bad things about me...behind my back...

Confront them. In public. Interrogate them, make them feel a fraction of what I feel on a daily basis.

And then generally cut them out of my life.

I've rarely had one of my good friends do such a thing, but I won't tolerate people being malicious for any reason. If there's anything I've learned, it's that I have to not be afraid of removing problems.

When people talk about me behind my back I simply break into a rousing chorus of OBSESSED by Mariah Carey.

Why you so obsessed with me?

I used to be so badly affected by what people said about me, now I really don't seem to care. It's good finding out who my real friends are.

I usually don't care.
I mean,...
People who matter don't mind, and people who mind don't matter.

until the person that minds is potential employer or loudly vocal coworker or one who refuses to serve you due to who you are and lets the world know it

"Obviously" one speaks up and tries to educate others, what I meant was more along the lines of what it does "to" me.
I refuse to allow someone else's willful ignorance drag me down and hurt my feelings. If they're bigoted, ignorant and verbally abusive then that should be Their problem more than mine!

Everyone is not going to like you.  I even think that the more people who really like you, the more people who can't stand you will even it out.  Even Mother Theresa has detractors, and even Hitler has supporters.  So all you can really do is think 'Well another country heard from' and move on from there.

This to me is the most harmful, and also the hardest to fight. Most people are cowards generally speaking, they may dislike what they see and will try any number of ways to make you feel inferior in subtle or not so subtle ways, but rarely do they say it to your face. That I can fight. >:(

Lol my first step is usually check: are they bigger than me? Or do they have a bigger posse than I?
If yes: run off and go girl, cry on friends shoulder  :P
If no: punch 'em. If I can get away with it  :D
I'm more of an aggressive guy when I'm mad though, so sometimes it doesn't matter if they are bigger. I'm like the lil Chihuahua who think he's tougher than the doberman  ;)

I had someone tell me, in a VERY LOUD voice (after I would not let him use the portapotty we set up for the stars) "You ought to be ashamed of yourself."  To which I could only answer "Yeah, my mom told me that every day."
