Alright... So I just found out about all of the TG self-hypnosis mp3s that are out there, and all I can say is wow.  It took me a couple of tries to really relax and go into a "trance", but once I finally did the results were amazing.  I truly felt like a woman inside and out during the session.  Using these I have managed to feminize myself psychologically, and during the actual session get a real feel for what it's like to finally be a member of the sex I always felt I belonged to.  If you'd like to try out some of these sessions, just let me know, and I will be more than happy to point you in the direction of another forum dedicated to this topic (and perhaps an upload or two lol).  If you do end up trying this out as well I really want to hear your reactions, because this has been an amazing journey for me, and I'd like to share in yours as well.

Do you truly feel that you needed to feminize yourself psychologically? I'm going the other way but I never needed hypnosis to know myself or masculinize(?) myself. I was and am already there.

I must admit, I feel similarly to LordKAT - I don't feel like I need to be hypnotised to truly feel like a woman.

I guess it might be useful if you're really self conscious and you use the hypnosis to try and break through that I guess.

Has anyone else tried this? I'd be interested to hear other people's thoughts.

Not hypnosis, but I use deep meditation to dig for answers, very similar I feel.

Once I get past the kria's( the involuntary movements and sounds), I can pare away all the layers that have built up over the years, and get closer to the real me. I have managed to dredge up a lot of memories of things that I had long forgotten, that have pointed me in the right direction.

Before I tended to "think" my way around a situation, in a stereotypically male fashion. Now I find I have a more emotional rather than intellectual aproach to things.

I decided if I was going to deal with this issue properly then I ought not use hypnosis.

At best it will make me think I am more girly at worst it will send my mind down a route it was not designed to go down, wrongly influencing any diagnosis I may get and risking a mistake in that regard. Furthermore it brings yet another issue of self doubt, do I want this? Or does the hypnosis make me want this?

Interesting...
I haven't had the need to have any hypnosis or anything at all. Everything that I am now, has just been subconsciously suppressed by my conscious mind in and attempt at self preservation during my childhood and life.
It was only through over 8 months of clinical psychotherapy that they started to come out, and then later, the hormones I take daily have really made them just burst out with a huge amount of velocity.

I have had it relatively easy in this regard I would think.

Just to clarify... hypnosis isn't about losing control of yourself, it's not about being weak or "submitting to someone else's will", and it's not about deluding yourself. There's some interesting research out there on it that suggest that it's an extreme state of very focused attention, guided by suggestion. There are similarities between hypnotized people, experienced meditators or even athletes "in the zone". There are also similarities between it and the placebo effect-- you have high-level mental processes affecting lower level ones, including physiological things that aren't usually voluntarily controllable. Also not everyone is hypnotizable, and there are different degrees to which different people can experience it.

(Side note: I thought hypnosis was BS until last year, when I had an eye-opening course by a professor who studies the neuroscience of attention and hypnosis. Experiencing it forced me to realize that dismissing something out of hand just because there are a lot of misconceptions and mysticism around it is foolish.)

From what I've learned about hypnosis, it doesn't sound like this is about feminization at all. It sounds to be about being able to RELAX and let go, and easing your dysphoria that way, not tricking yourself into believing you're different than you are.

Interestingly, when I'm relaxed and happy I am a hell of a lot more feminine...to the point where I was read as female without even trying...If i get tense, i end up feeling like a giraffe of stilts.

True. You are also in the same sort of trance when you put the milk in the cupboard and the cereal in the fridge. :D

One of my dark secrets is that I am a trained hynotist. I actually learned the technique while I was still at school but since the I have had some lessons and indeed used it in an... ahem... semi professional way.

Most of the so called feminisation hypnosis tapes are just a rip off. For one thing this is supposed to be about becomming yourself and not putting on some trance induced big act, and for another most hypnotists seem to have a very narrow definition of what it might mean to be feminine (almost as narrow as 1970's gender psychiatrists in fact  ::))

However what hypnosis CAN do for you is to help you relax and become most truly and comfortably yourself. In short it can help you let out all the stuff that is genuinely already there but repressed and burried deep. The things that you had to UNLEARN when growing up because they got you teased and bullied when you did them. These can all be unlocked by hypnosis. It can also give you that elusive self confidence and self belief.

Please note Seras has it right. You don't want to force your mind into an unnatural state. So this isn't about that at all. Instead it is about opening up your mind to it's truest and most naturally comfortable way of being. To allow you to be, as my mother always said, "the best you that you can be!"

I have used self hypnosis along those lines to very good effect.

I would, in principle, be happy to make up a few hypnotic MP3's along those lines for anyone who would be interested. I am doing one as a trial for an "IRL friend" I originally met through the forum, (no names no pack drill as I wouldn't want to her to feel embarrassed about being my tester). So perhaps wait a few weeks and then we will be in a better position to see whether it has proved helpful to her or not.
