It was an awakening of sorts. As a youngster struggling with his sexuality, the first year of college at Jadavpur University was a liberating experience for Anindya Hajra. "That's when I was introduced to the queer community of the city. I thought my struggles were isolated until I met a number of kotis, hijras, gay men and women and, of course, transgenders," says Hajra.
