Areolas?

Weird question.
I'm 5ft4, 7st/45kg, A cup. How big should my areolas be roughly?
I ask because I'm considering peri-areola surgery and if you have big areolas, it tends to look quite crap.

Well, they come in all shapes and sizes, though guys tend to have less variation in sizes. I suggest just looking at some nudes online and compare yourself in the mirror.

I think the surgeon will be able to offer some advice too.

Best of luck!

Yeah, you can never tell in photos though. Just wondering if there was an average size for either.

Nicky

Oh, wikipedia said most males have areolas 1 inch accross, or 25 mm. Mature women 1.2 inches or 30mm in diameter up to around 100mm (4 inches. Hope this helps!

Typical size for a guy is around one inch. You should have a little excess skin, yes? If so, it shouldn't be too tough for your surgeon to trim the areolas to an appropriate size (unless your areolas are really big right now). The puckering will smooth out eventually.

You might need a revision to get the nipples decreased, though. A lot of guys who get peri and keyhole wind up going back for revisions, but I'm not sure what the most popular reasons are.

I've been curious about this too.  I've tried looking for pictures but it's hard to compare myself to a non-life size picture...

Thanks Nicky and Arch, gonna go measure now... XD

Mine look like lopsided ovals...I wonder if that's normal?  Aren't most women's round?

This is totally normal, and is more common in women.

There's something normal about me?  This is one for the history books.

I was hoping T would decrease the size of them, but from what I've heard, no.  Must save for top surgery...

ok.. so my nipple AND areola is the size of a penny.. will that be a problem for top surgery? like... they wont have much to work with

Man, I wish I had tiny nipples.  The things are damn disgusting, to me.  >:(

You know, I've been wondering to what extent the actual nipples are re-designed...  Areola re-sizing seems straightforward enough, but male and female nipples look different, don't they?  Do they also fix those to be smaller?  Or is that a revision surgery?  Mine are on the small side as compared to top surgery before pics I've seen, but I'm just curious...

Me too. I'm hoping to persuade my future surgeon to not re-attach my nipples. I'm hoping to just get some tattooed on so they appear like nipples but I won't feel them.

I guess it just depends on what you get. I don't think it'd be an issue at all.

I'm not a doctor, though, when the time comes just ask them.

My surgeon was supposed to minimize my nipples by scraping some tissue from behind them. I don't know if he did that, because I still have female-looking nipples. Maybe not quite as prominent as before...but the more I look at them, the more I hate them. I wasn't expecting that.

On another note, I have a terrible time remembering to pronounce "areola" properly and always want to put the stress on third syllable instead of the second. What is it about this particular word? ::)
