The U.S. State Department announced Wednesday a new policy that no longer requires passport applicants seeking a gender change to have undergone sexual reassignment surgery.

Good news for all you Americans :)

I don't think what is written on the Passport matters much anymore after they put the RF chips in them.  That's where the real info is stored.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

In the country where in many juridistications sex is understood vagina/penis this may not be a good idea. Should they check people privates's then before man and woman can marry. I support strongly giving temporary passports for pre-ops. That makes going to surgery etc. much easier.

This would happen a month after I renewed my passport (with an F still on it because I'm waiting to change my legal sex until after a hysterectomy which insurance will cover as long as I'm listed as female).

Good news regardless..
;D
