A good gender therapist can help a gender questioning person by asking the right questions at the right time.
Even if you do not need therapy you need to establish that you are sane and informed enough to start transition.
Also a good gender therapist can help you find other resourses that you will need to transition properly.

So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.
