logging on for past 2 days

I've heard of situations where some servers get blocked because of one site stored on them. I don't kbow how true this is, but feared this might have happened.

yeah, I'm guessing web content has higher priority then irc at the moment (as far as getting the server back to normal).

The screen I got said that Windows is unable to connect to the server. It had a tab, Diagnose connection problems, which said my connection is fine.

I get this now and again, when I try to connect to something that is politically sensitive, usually something in the ME, but Russia is another frequent place that is blocked.

The other screens, DNS Error and such are, of course, different and suggest hardware faults or some idiots doing a mass attack.

Those of us who began surfining in the 90s, before Google, will remember the huge amounts of information available on almost every subject. Now, it seems, finding decent information is somewhere between a major chore and impossible.

That's bad enough. But blocking Susans' is not on.

 I can now log in again but I'm having problems on the mod area.  However, it is amazing how many of us need this site

might be a bug or corrupt database (in the forum software) since the server went down without proper shutdown (?).

Gouger Street for some really nice reastuarents. Are you OK with marine food (I am  long as I do not have to point at it in the aquarium) . I like meat but also have no problems with total vegetarian.


Trying very hard to be upbeat 'cos I know it is only personal sadness that is upsetting me.

I understand where some are comming from with the comment, 'Get a Life'.

But I think our lives are made up of elements. I think of mine, for example, my home, my wife, my allotment, my car and what I do on my computer.

In the case of my computer, I meet people in an online game, where we spend more time chatting than defeating the dark forces. I have regular verbal sword fights with people on a current affairs forum. And Susans', where I can say things, read things and discuss things that I can't elsewhere.

It seems perfectly natural, for anyone, to feel a bit of a loss when one of these isn't available.
