Thanksgiving Perspectives

Today is, for those of us in the USA, Thanksgiving.  For those in other places, you are invited to come along, too.  But I wonder what unique things there are to be thankful for on this day.  Our tradition in the family is to name them out loud.  Obviously, some things can't be named in everyone's company.  So why not list them here?  Here are some things I wish I could say around the table today:

1.  I am thankful for the support I've found at Susan's.  You people rock!  I was actually stupid enough to think nobody would understand.  Have you ever proved me wrong.  So I have a new hope.  Thanks!!!!!!

2.  I am thankful that I do have a family to spend holidays with.  My heart goes out to those on here and elsewhere who suffer the pain and outrage of family rejection after being honest.  Holidays should not be lonely times for anyone.  I hope I can find a way to help.

3.  I am thankful that I am alive and able to write.  Three months ago I nearly lost my life.  But I'm healed and well and full of new purpose.

Hope others will chime in.

Nice topic Kristie,

Great way to help encourage those that are sometimes blinded by hurt of loneliness. Great way to let them know how many of us really care that they are alive and here.

I want to thank everyone whom has ever interacted in posts with me sharing your experiences and knowledge so I could learn more of how to be more supportive to my life's partner. Thankyou also for being here to help Leah through such a difficult time. I now you maybe thinking she doesn't share much to be more connected...but please know she reads here at Susan's often in the wee hours usually just on my log in because it's already set for that. She has large fingers abd the keyboard frustrates her. She has aquired much knowledge and information from readin what others have said in their posts.

I am thankful for my kids.

I am thankful that my ex & I are able to be adults around the kids - even pleasant at times.

I am thankful for all the wonderful people here at Susan's.

I am thankful for my friends and coleagues who have been supportive of my journey.

I am thankful for my new parish.

I am thankful for my imagination and the ability to place it on paper.

I am thankful that my transition has been going so well.

I am thankful that I haven't had any problems at work when I transitioned, and that I work with such a nice group of people who treat me well.

I am thankful that I have met and become friends with so many wonderful and supportive people in my journey.

I am thankful that I got to spend Thanksgiving with two of those friends, Lola and Janet.

I am thankful for all the wonderful people in my life (most whom I have met in the past year).

I am thankful to have a place of my own for the first time in my life.

I am very thankful for Susan for putting this website on. It has helped me in the past and now I only want to help others out.

I am very thankful for my family who most of them have accepted me and my wife very graciously.

I am very thankful for haveing a wonderful person in my life, who has accepted me unconditionally and said she will be by my side until we both pass on.

I am thankful to have this part time job of mine so I can afford my nails and hair. They have accepted me also and after being this is the third year of me driving, some have forgotten that I'm transsexual. Going stealth without even trying.

I am very thankful, like some of you have said already, for being alive and living my life as it should have been when I was born.

I am thankful for being accepted by my community and not haveing any of the harrassment going on in my life.
