it just really gets annoying after a while to be told that all the time. i'm 5'11, which is considered tall no matter if you're male or female, but especially with family members telling me i'm getting taller everytime i see them, when i'm 18 is getting really tiresome, and transitioning to female, people are going to say it ALL the time as opposed to being tall for a male. it's just one of those things, i've learned to embrace my height, but being told all the time just gets so annoying!

Look at this way:  guys (and girls) like tall girls!  Especially if they long legs to go with the height.

I get the same comments from family (I'm 5'10") and I just say "thank you", though if I transitioned to male I'd probably never get the comments...or not talk to at all.

I think this is a bad habit older people get into with younger people, particularly teenagers.

The "Oh, haven't you grown!" statement. I hear it all the time from relatives with both of my stepkids and one is male and one female. It should stop by the time you hit 21 hopefully. It's just one of those annoying "adult relative" things you have to live with I'm afraid.

My stepdaughter is 5'11" by the way and I have said this to her on many occasions and she enjoys being tall. It is a good thing whether male or female. My ex bosses daughter is 6'2" and she still gets these comments at 25 years old.

With you being only 18, it's ok these days, as youths are getting taller and taller regardless of gender so you should be ok to grow even more yet lass  ;)

Like Shang has said, most people think tall is sexy, so embrace it.

Just wait till guys start trying to use it as a pickup line and women start using it to snipe at you or ask you to grab stuff off the top shelf for them at the supermarkets....

Retorts to pickup lines: Yeah I am, and sorry, but you have to be atleast this tall (hold hand just above your own height) to ride this ride.

Women being snipy asking for things off the top shelf: Ask for something off the bottom shelf at floor level.

Hey, I'm 6'2"

Some rude people have called me "Horsey"... Others less rude have referred to me as a "Tall drink O' water"

And yeah, guess who folks ask to reach stuff for them...

Just today at the market a sweet old dear asked me to reach some honey off the top shelf for her. She was so nice I asked if there was anything else she needed... Sure enough almost everything on her list was out of her reach... So I basically went shopping with her

All I had gone for was coffee and creamer for the morning

When I left her at the check stand she said thank you and that she wished there were more sweethearts like me around

It made my day

I am also tall at 5' 10".  Forget about being in heels.  And I am always reach up for something on the top shelves for others.

I think that is why my friend keeps me around, she is only 5' 1".  ;D  A regular short sh*t.

Come hang with my family, at 5'11, you'll be "normal".

Temporary solution, just find "people taller than you" to hang out with.

At my height, I've gotten the "you're so tall" from people all my life, they promptly shut up after meeting my folks however, changing their tune to something more like "I'm so short" if anything at all.
