I saw the surgeon today and he said that because I have been delayed and on hormones for a long time my bits have shrunk so that he coudl not give me a properly working vagina from penis and scrotum skin alone so he and his colleague will do one by taking out a piece of colon and using that to line the new hole.
I asked him about the reports that this colon type will always be a wet smelly mess and he said not...says that after about six months the body makes the colon over into sort of proper vagina lining and normal hygeine should keep it all nice.
He has done quite a few so maybe those post-ops who do say their colonvagnoplasty is a smell mess may have residual infection or hygeine problems?  Or perhaps just bad luck really.
Anyway he said he coudl do it as early as September but I said my local helath people may be a bit slow about getiing funding passed.
But at least I've go the promise.

My surgeon who did my revision told me the same thing.  Lies!  Hateful, despicable lies!  It's years after surgery and I still have to wear pads, and it's as if I can't douche often enough.  If I were you, I'd ask for a skin graft from a hairless region of the thigh or buttocks.

Have you had bacteria cultures to see what is causing it or is it just that it is lubricating itself so much as it probably should be doing when in its original place?
I forgot to ask him which bit of colon they use - maybe a piece from near the end is better -  or worse?

it's possible to sever a nerve i can't remember the name to reduce cramps and inflammation (which causes excessive discharge) at the cost of being a but numb (?).

I agree with glendagladwitch in that there are probably different ways to get surgery that don't involve a colon segment.

No.  My surgeon lives 14 hours away and won't return my calls.  Dr. Preecha in Thailand is the one who knows how to cut the nerve thingy.  I emailed all the other Thai surgeons and they all said that Dr. Preecha is the one to go to.  I tried to consult online, but he said I would need to visit him for a consult, so I'm out of luck.  I can't afford or schedule two trips to Thailand.

Some Thai surgeons claim to be able to work with minimum material. You could try that route.

can't afford to go to Thailand and our NHS is free so I  have to stick with them.

Wait... wait wait.... So by doing hrt and having to wait for the srs because of money etc?  You can end up being penalized more or less for it and lose out on this in a way?

well thats what happened with me. 
It's very nice when the estrogen kills all sex action but of course no-one explained that the size of the bits should be maintained for surgery.
The UK NHS was a bit slow until laste year when they speeded up and now they have gone too far and people can start transition and get surgery all within 15 months!  I know some who have done this but a a long way from being female and are cheating on RLE.  I say the 2 years RLE is essential.  I have lawyers working on my case.

my situation was a bit more complicated because I always had an undescended left testicle and didn't have a left side scrotum so there was not a full amount of scrotum to work with.

I see.  But that worries me as I am not bound to even be close to having money for a long time now to move forward beyond hrt.  Which I am still doing without a doctors aid due to that as well being off the damn charts.

as someone who has self medicated, you're going to at least need bloodwork to make sure you're hitting your target T.

I don't personally know any post operative MTFs who haven't lost at least a couple of inches depth after surgery, long term, except the ones who had grafts.  I don't think surgery necessarily stops the tissue shrinkage.  Unless you're 8+ inches pre E, just get a graft.  But I'd avoid the colon graft if there is a skin graft option.

Meh, it is a long way off at best anyways.  I really have enough worries outside of this I shouldn't stress it anyways.  I'll just try to note this somewhere and get back to it like 8 years later.
