Hi everyone,

Arrived at the hospital and sitting in my room. Had a few butterflies in my stomach when I entered the building and went to reception. Just had my bloods taken and waiting for lunch. On a low residue diet today and nil by mouth tomorrow. GRS/SRS will be around 5pm tomorrow 15th.

I'm feeling OK and kind of chilled and excited but occasionally I get a little worried.

Any way I'll expect tomorrow will be busy so I will up date on the other side (post op that is, lol).

A 5 PM surgery? That will be a tiresome wait on Thursday.

Why are you worried? My understanding is that you have very little responsibilities.
You just lie there; you don't even have to hand the surgeon any instruments.
>:-)

Good luck

Wow, thats pretty late in the day....
I'm just guessing, but your having your surgery not in north america... right?
(sorry, but nearly every surgeon I've ever met prefers to operate early in the morning and deal with everything else in the mid to late afternoon)

Getting worried is bound to happen but remember to look forward to it!

Im sure all will go well and like Renate said all you have to do is lie there and dream  :)

Thanks everyone,

Can't sleep, its midnight here and I was really tired by 10pm so did go off to sleep but just woke up and tried to get back to sleep again. Wind is blowing outside and the hospital rooms are so hot. I took the duvet out of my duvet cover and now I just have the cover over me. Thought I'd just have  mess around on my laptop and try and become sleepy again. Time is going by and I have to have an injection to thin the blood at 5.30am 12hrs before surgery. Everything still feels surreal and kind of strange to think in several hours time I will be having the surgery that I have been waiting for for years.

The hot flushes don't help and they keep coming over me in waves.

Up date again when I can.

My surgery was performed in the Land of Smiles. I was scheduled for 3PM.

3PM came and went, then 4, then 5, then 6, then 7, then....

I had almost resigned myself to the possibility that the surgery wasn't going to happen.

I then went outside, stood by a statue of Budha, medittated, and calmed down. Within moments
they came for me, and the rest was herstory.

It was morning in the US, but it was most definitely night time in Thailand.
