What should I have done? (Pictures)

I haven't started HRT yet, so this may be a little more optimistic later, but I'm curious what people think I should get changed eventually; I definitely look masculine, but I'm not sure what I would need to change to look more feminine. Overall it's a very depressing affair.

Unfortunately my room is very poorly lit right now, so I have to go off these bad pictures when my hair was dirty; tomorrow when the sun's up I can take more if needed:

Can you do me a favor and take full-on face picture without the glasses and without you smiling?

I'd be able to see better and give suggestions (though shaving is one I can give now).  Along with plucking your eyebrows some to give them more of a gentle arch.

Grow your bangs out some more to match the length of the rest of your hair and pluck or wax your brows into a more feminine shape. Basically what Shang said. haha

Hair is fine. Shape the eyebrows and learn makeup secrets.

Oh, whoops, I linked to the same image twice. I have one that's a bit more full on forward, lemme add that. If it's no good I can take another.

I can't pluck just quite yet, since my family would definitely be giving me some awkward questions and I haven't come out to them yet. Currently working on the hair situation, haha. I swear it's cleaner normally, too! With regards to shaving, it grows back so goddamn fast I don't bother half the time, next time I take photos I'll do so, however.

LordKAT, do you mean to imply I don't require surgery?

Shang

With a little bit of tweaking here and there, I don't think you'd need surgery.  You'll be able to tell if you need surgery more when you fix things that don't need it (like shaving and eyebrows).  I don't think you'd need anything to your jawline, it looks nice and soft (reminds me of my sister's actually).  Your nose might, but my sister also has a similar nose to yours.

And I think your hair is fine (even when dirty).  It looks like it has nice subtle waves.

I think you might need a different glasses style, maybe something with frames?

Yeah with my glasses off my nose is definitely quite big. My jaw seems a bit boxy, though, at least to me.

Thanks! I'm quite fond of my hair, I think it'll look great when it's nearly down to my waist, I'm guessing a bit like a darker version of the picture below, but this may be wishful thinking.

I will definitely be switching my glasses style, definitely something with more frames. I'm also finally getting contacts, so I can do both, whichever looks better I'll probably air on the side of. I think my sister has fake glasses with more appropriate frames, I might try to borrow those at some point.

You might look good with hair that's pretty long!  And if you can keep it nice and full looking, you'd probably rock it.

I've got a pretty square jaw (my head looks like a square, honest) but it's never caused me troubles (it allows me to pass as a boy if I cut my hair shorter than my chin, but if it remains long I keep looking like my sex).  Square jaws aren't all that bad and with the right hair style, it can look pretty awesome.

Like I said, I think you'll look great with just a few tweaks (not that you don't look great now).

I hope so very much— I'm definitely going for it regardless. Even if I didn't transition I'd still grow it out, haha.

Thanks, but feminine > great in general. :Þ

Good luck!  I hope everything turns out good.  I think you'll do fine, and can look feminine pretty easily (at least to me).  =)

Thanks again! I'll have to come back after plucking and makeup. I have no idea when that'll be though, sinceI don't really have access to makeup at the moment and I'd rather not come out to my religious parents anytime soon. (Which is annoying because I'd like to start HRT NOW, not in two months. :/)

Actually, you already look supremely sexy with those equations on the board behind you. Brains do tern me on, and I believe it is extremely sexy. Now if you could only explain to me mechanics of quantum theory and 11 dimensional universe, I will be swept of my feet forever :icon_sitonitnrotate-nerd:.

But just in case, I have done a little touch up, trimming eyebrows and softening skin:

You can clearly see that you already have what it takes!

If your not on hormones yet I would give them time before getting FFS, maybe even 2 years.  Hormones alone made me passable in 6 months.  I still have some work to do with my face and am getting FFS to fix somethings.  My advice is wait see how your face changes with HRT, then decide.  You also have a much better starting point then i did.

After HRT (1.7yrs):

makes a big difference see how you turn out.

wow izumi u were gorgeous as a women

TY, but samantha is starting at an earlier age it seems and already had more feminine features then i had when i started, i am sure she will look much better in the end.  So i am jealous ^_^, but also happy, i had a tough time when i started, not knowing how i would end up.  For 6 months of HRT i didnt see much changes and thought i would need surgery to pass, i cried about it a lot but worked very hard to continue getting my body in shape.  Then one day i woke up looked at myself in the mirror and i looked different... just like that overnight... and womens cloths seemed to fall better in the right places.  Ever since then my appearance keeps getting more feminine and I am happy but i havent given up dieting and exercising and everything else I did either, transitioning is hard, but i dont want to screw it up so i give it 100% of all i got.

See, i am an old maid already in my 30s, i missed a large part of my life.  I am actually jealous of people who start young, but am happy for them too, they wont have the same regrets i did in starting so late.
