It was Sonic for me, and if the past few years' game releases hadn't happened, I could still claim an innocent and undying affection for the guy (through the dozen or so Sonic plushes I have), but SEGA killed him off in 2006 with that atrocious Xbox 360 entry. The Sonic Chronicles was most excellent, though!
