I really did.. Saturday night late evening i went to get a drink, walking quickly in the dark i slipped on one of my puppy's toys on the top landing..
well then ensued a violent fall, I was airborne for like 5 steps landed on my but, bounced a few times then lunged forward onto my arms and chest at the bottom of our steps! Agghhhhhh the pain!
I knew the next day was gonna be ugly.. I could barely walk and my tailbone hurt soo bad!
I cancelled tennis and outdoor activities took some moderate pain meds and layed most of the day..
Monday just as bad at work no relief and hurt terribly to sit, stay seated, and then Oh GOD... Getting up the pain in my tailbone area!
anyway by Tuesday morning no relief just as bad.. I rescheduled a day off for this friday to today and took the day off and went to the doctor.. My pcp..
He's cool!  He wants x-rays done to be sure but he said if i did not fracture my tail bone area then i put one heckuva jolt to it???
But for treatment there is none just rest, healing-time, and a donut to sit on...
He said though he wants to be sure of the condition if its broken he'll give me more pain meds and stuff cause it'll be a few sore weeks for a while, if not then he'll know when i cold expect some relief...
He gave me a script of flexoril that i asked for, it helped although its a muscle relaxant.. My ribs and back are sore as well....
I do not wanna take these though they made me too drowsy and sleepy..
I'll go and register at the hospital tomorrow for the x-rays and they'll page me when ready that way i can still get my work done in my area!
Priceless visa commercial.. 15.00 copay, 25.00 xray copay, 28.00 script copay.. All the pain still there priceless!
Please send me hugs but keep them above the tail bone region! :icon_cry2:
Luv.....
Ricki
ps.. i hate to ask but have any of you girls or guys out there did this?

I broke my tail bone about 4 years ago flipping over the handlebars on my crotch rocket at 60 mph after hitting the back end of a trailer that pulled out in front of me. Still hurts me at times. I'd get it checked out, but I'm not too sure there is a lot they can do about it.

Ouch!  Oh dear, that hurts just to read it.  You weren't trying for the Guinness book were you?  Most assuredly let me offer you hugs - high riding as requested.  Get much better very soon, Ricki.

Wow Ricki! :o
That had to hurt;  :'(  it hurt me just reading about it.
Here's a hug from meabove the waist. :icon_hug:
Do be careful and turn on the lights from now on.
You sure don't want to do that again or worst.
Do how and pray that you don't break your tail bone and that you heal quickly.

Holy Crap Ricki!  That's terrible!  I'm so sorry.  I've never had anything like that happen to me, but bless your heart that has to hurt like hell.  We're all thankful it wasn't worse.

Glad you went to the doctor...hope the meds help and you stop hurting very soon.  Please keep us posted on how the x-rays turn out.  It sounds like you may be sore for a while, so be careful.

Here's a big hug (above the waist) and some flowers  :icon_bunch:

Get well soon, baby.  My prayers are with you.

Texas-sized Hugs.....Laurie
Ya put your right foot in.  You put your right foot out.  You put your right foot in and you shake it all about.  You do the Andro-gyney and you turn yourself around.  That's what it's all about.

That was quite the fall Ricki.  I hope that you recover quickly.  As you asked, I have fallen down the stairs myself but no where near as back as your fall.  I know that my heart almost jumped out of my chest when it happened, so I can imagine that yours much have jumped right out.

Get well soon hon.

Ouch. I bruised my tailbone snowboarding and it took 3 or 4 weeks to stop hurting. Even a couple of months later, if I jumped a puddle or something I could feel it.

Hopefully it's no worse than a bruising for you Ricki.

I separated some vertabrae in my tailbone about 10 years ago. I slipped on the ice and landed on exactly the wrong spot. So I have an idea what you're going through.

Here's a hug as gingerly as I can manage it.  :icon_hug:

Awww shucks.. I feel a little better already!  :icon_dance:
It could be some vicodin kicking in too though, hehe..
Thank you though it means a lot just to have someone say it like you guys did you know at work here i am half bent walking around and the employees i have could really care less the one guy asked me today to lift a box that weighed 40 pounds for him?   what the  :eusa_wall:
Anyway missed my chance for the xrays i had a meeting that i had to leave the campus for farther into the city and i was running behind and never got up to xray reg, to register.. I will do it in the am...
I guess as much as i hate the copay business, that knowing for sure if there is a break or tear is better if not i know its just bruised really bad.. But its thursday and it still hurts like heck so i am thinking its a break or fracture ...
Boo hoo!
anyway well at least its not middle of the summer!
To think all the rocks i climb falls I've had, slips on the hiking trails with a full pack, slips and falls on the tennis courts and dummy me falls in his own home!
somewere a lady said at work statistically at home is where these bad accidents happen?
Lotsa love and thanks for the hugs and cheer-ups!
Ricki.

Boring update if anyone cares to follow...
got the xrays Friday while at work.. Took like 40 minutes had to undress down to underwear and socks then put on the gowns and stuff.. then while in the actual room i still had a notebook and my pager with me, i get paged the one manager needed my help finding something on the pc so here i am naked basically in a gown on a house phone behind the xray techs station telling her where to go to get this file, this lady laughed and said i'll not tell the boss you were helping me while you had your pants off! hehe...we have a brand spankin new xray and radiology department! awesome dept.. anyway the steel table killed me they took like 9 xrays.. The girl i did not recognize the "tech" she was newer.. she did not realize i worked there or was a manager... Anyway i did not take out my navel piercing "cause they said nothing about removing piercings silly"..
anyway after first pic she comes in and says excuse me Mr so and so can you remove your piercing its blocking your spine on the images...
I laughed.. Then we had fun she was positioning me here and there for each shot and i am ticklish in my waistline / gut area and she laughed she said you ticklish, i said yes YEs how did you know she flirted some cause when she'd manuever me she find a quick way of flciking her fingers on my sides.. Giggle..
ANYWAY...
Doc should get results tomorow at his office.. i syspect there's a tear or break.. I was bathing earlier and could liteally pinpoint a very sore area on the tail...
The boys called for tennis late last night for toady was almost 50 degrees and sunny...and i went not being 100% tried to play but only played for about 2 1/2 hours, was only playing and hitting at about 65% found some things just not possible or would wince on overheads (quick movements, stretching for shots, sliding, extreme bending)definately avoided anything aggressive to not want to further injure myself!  And my good buddies just wooped the crap out of me taking advantage that i was only 65% healthy!  drop shots which i did not even bother to chase up to, lobs just to try and see if i would attempt overheads..
i'll gettem back!
The years ending and we may not play again till spring so we take every decent weather day we can get!
Drugs..
did not like the flexoril too much made everything lossy goosy except my tail bone and waayy to sleepy - highish for my comfort level was like that all day wednesday...
Vicodins work fine and i have'm but would rather have percocets or ultracets i will consult with doc when he gets the xrays for that!
that's it.....

Gee - 2 1/2 hours - I would not be complaining if I where you. At least you where out there sorta having fun.  Now if you played 1/2 hour and could not go on then I would be worred.

Don't be surprised if it's not an actual break, Ricki. You wouldn't believe how painful a bruised tailbone is. It feels a lot like what you've been doing. I dunno what bruising a bone means, but when I had it it hurt like hell.

I hope it's not a break. Sounds like that would take longer to recover from and a bruised tailbone was at least a month for me.

Hi Ricki,

I hope your tail bone feels better. It's good that you could still move around for tennis. Some people (like me) would just lay around all the time. Moving helps you heal.
I wonder if you Gingerbread men tripped you on the stairs because you fed their friends to your dog?

get well soon,

Beck
