Farm Boy

Hey, I need some help!

Today I rescued a zebra finch from a little kid who was trying to stick it in a tree.  He said it was a pet that his mother no longer wanted, and she'd told him to put it in a tree.  He'd also already turned one loose.  Grrr, irresponsible owners... >:(

Anyway, it doesn't have all of its feathers yet and it can't fly.  I don't know how it was being cared for before, or how to feed it.  (I've cared for orphaned birds before, but they were all wild, never domestic)  I've got it set up in a small plastic critter keeper for the moment, with some paper towels and dried grass.  I've got a dish with some crunched up Cheerios and sunflower seeds, and I gave it some water by medicine dropper about an hour ago. Here's a picture:

Any help or suggestions you could give would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

Update:

The little guy died.  I guess he was just too young to be separated from his parents.  Irresponsible pet owners make me sick.
