I apologise if my attitude toward this story is a bit flippant. I know men seem to have a need to prove themselves one better than anyone else. But this tory, from Finland has to stand as a testament to utter male stupidity.

The annual World Sauna Championships in Finland have ended in tragedy with the death of one of the finalists.

Russian Vladimir Ladyzhensky and his Finnish rival, Timo Kaukonen, collapsed after suffering severe burns. Mr Ladyzhensky later died in hospital.

The event requires participants to withstand 110C (230F) for as long as possible. The men managed six minutes before judges noticed something amiss.

I never could get into some of the posturing & "who is the toughest" stuff with other males when I was living as male. Not that girls don't do the same ->-bleeped-<-, but they seem to do it less.

It made me think of this spider fight video. First fight is between males. Second is between females.

but ya competition is a sometimes fatal flaw in men.  You might think its a man's dream to have his woman be as good as him in a sport and or video game, thats where i say yeah, but the second she beats him... its a nightmare...

It was fun playing games with my fiance ( i was going easy on him), but he was trash talking a bit and giving me tips on playing, so i decided ok... time to open the can of woop ass.   No more easy mode.  lets just say he doesnt wanna play anymore and I made him rage quit, his epeen shrunk a bit that day.  Sure their are games hes better then me in but now he in general prefers not to play me and instead play coop.  So guys like competition its in their nature because the best get selected for sex right? lol at least they think they do~

but anyway , although this was unbelievably stupid , i have seen guys do a lot of stupid things like (true story) slapping each other so hard until one of them loses by saying "ouch" . girls too do some pretty stupid things in competition with other girls (although a lot less dangerous ) . it doesn't necessarily involve other people's admiration , it's just in human nature , the animal desire to feel superior to peers
