Finally! After about 7 months of suck and unemployment (resulting in depression), things are finally starting to work out for me.
I've re-connected with an old friend, and made a new one who both understand and are supportive of my genderqueer/ trans identity. It helps that one is FTM, and the other is a queer cis-male, but I finally have people in my life who I can really be myself around.
I returned to the horse farm I worked at from when I was 12-21, and have gotten back into horseback riding and teaching. I have a focus now, kids who see me as an experienced adult to look up to, and of course amazing horses to work with. My trainer is helping me find a horse (and will allow me to work on the farm in exchange for board), and I'm hoping to go look at a 5 year old who has just started to be trained under saddle to is available for a free lease.
I worked a one day job for a caterer a couple weeks ago, bussing tables and keeping the buffet stocked at a wedding, and was asked to work for her again this saturday at another wedding. The uniform is black pants and a white button up shirt, so I can dress androgenous (and most importantly, feel comfortable) while working. Theres potential for at least 3 more weddings working with the same caterer in the next couple months too.
I have an interview this afternoon for a permanent position in a cafe/ sandwich shop. Part time, but anything is better than nothing.
Things are working out, im happier overall than I have been in almost a year, and my life is finally moving in a direction I want. Maybe I'll even be able to buy a car and move out of my moms house by the end of the year.
I know this was pretty random, but this place needs more positive posts.
