State's highest court hears case tomorrow

Tomorrow, the focus shifts to Annapolis. And activists on both sides of the issue will be watching.

"There's no doubt that what happens in Maryland will inform the discussion in other communities around the country," said Ken Choe, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union who will be arguing in the case.

At 10 a.m., the state's highest court, the Court of Appeals, will hear arguments in a landmark case challenging the state's definition of marriage. In January, a Baltimore Circuit Court judge struck down a 1973 law that says, "Only a marriage between a man and a woman is valid in this state."
