T-blockers vs DHT blockers

Which(if either) is more effective and why? I've seen a lot of controversy on this and I'd like to get your opinions.

meds that bock or stop T from being produced will automatically stop DHT (since it's a byproduct of T).

That's the conclusion I came to as well, but I've heard from a few different people that that isn't the case, so I suddenly felt a bit confused by the subject. I'm hoping to see what the majority opinion of people in this forum is.
