With Dignity, My First Gender Surgery And How All Transsexuals Should Be Treated By Medical Professionals

I had my first gender surgery yesterday; though, it was not done strictly as part of the gender surgery, per se. Yesterday, I underwent a bilateral orchiiectomy, also known as surgical castration. This procedure is usually done as part of genital reconstruction surgery, but it can also be done in lieu of it, or in my case, because of ensuing complications when it comes to the sex change itself. In my case, the hormones I was on had caused horrible swelling in what were my testicles. I guess they're medical waste now. For some, the fact that I just laughed writing that sentence would disturb them, but for me, it's wonderful.

For the last two years, I have been in increasing pain, and my endocrinologist and I agreed that it would be best for me to see an urologist. The urologist agreed to perform the surgery because I was going to have the testicles removed anyway and the pain was enough to really impact my life.
