Hi all,

I'm a UK transguy still waiting for an appointment, my paperwork was 'lost' following my GP's referral.

I decided to self medicate so I put in hours of research and had an off the record talk with a health worker in this field.

So far it's all working out really well and I'm happy with the changes.

My GP's surgery is aware that I self medicate and I had to see my doctor for an unrelated issue a couple of weeks ago. I asked for a blood test to check my testosterone level was within acceptable limits but I was told no because it would look as though they were condoning me self medicating. My GP said that as soon as they get the letter from the clinic they will be 100% behind me and support me all the way but until then I'm on my own.

I'm not complaining about that because it was my own choice to self medicate and I fully accept any consequences that come from it.

My question is, did any other self medicating transguys get the same response from their doctor?

I'm MtF and got the same response from my GP.  But I'm going to test this in court before very long as in my case it is very much a Human Rights issue...it isn't with you yet so you have no legal way forward...so just accept the wait.
