I have my consult with dr. Garramone on monday so I just wanted to ask a couple of questions before hand.

Is there a consultation fee? I know there is a 500 dollar deposit to book a surgery date but wasn't sure if there was an additional charge for the consult itself.

Also what kind of questions did you ask? I have done my research, I know what kind of surgery I need and want and know pretty much the ins and outs of it. the only questions Ihave are really verifying that he will take certain sections of breast tissue I am uncomfortable with out. But other than that I don't really know what to ask. My parents will be with me so I know that they will have plenty of question and will cover most everything. But, any suggestions?
Call me a cheat but I make my own fate.

Hey I just went on Garramone's site and this is what it said:

"Cost of FTM Top Surgery ® (Female To Male Transgender Chest Surgery) and ManSculptureSM

All top surgery costs are estimates for information purposes only and are subject to change without prior written notification.

All surgeries are performed as an outpatient procedure and do not require an overnight stay in a hospital. If you are traveling from out of town, Dr. Garramone requests you stay in our local area for at least one week so he may monitor you during the early postoperative period.

All costs include preoperative consultation fee, postoperative physician care, a letter written by Dr. Garramone, and revision surgery for up to one year after surgery. Revision surgery is only covered if related to the prior surgery performed by Dr. Garramone. If revisions must be performed in a hospital or surgery center, only Dr. Garramone's fee will be waived. The patient is responsible for all outside OR fees."

The area of interest is bolded. I hope that's what you're after  :D if not, he seems like a nice guy  :) send him an email.

Other than that, I'm stumped with questions as well  :-\. If anything, I'd ask stuff about what kind of muscle-definition should I expect and maybe what I can take to minimize scarring, but those are just my personal concerns.

There is no fee, if your consult is in person he will want to see your chest, if not you have to email him pics.  If you are going to see him monday i have my pre op consult at 2:30, maybe we will run into eachother?  I did my initial consult over the phone and he did all of the question asking (he is so nice btw) he ask's about your medical history and stuff like that, it only took about 10 minutes.  I really didn't have much to ask him because i did alot of research before picking a surgeon.
