So, I've been dealing with this US pharmacy for about 2 years and dutifully injecting my Estrogen every 2 weeks quite happily.
End of April I have my SRS and go off hormones and spiro.
Coming back home and after waiting for the allotted time I start back on my hormones, I'm running low so I order a new shipment.
A few weeks after starting this new batch I start to feel odd, my face is breaking out and incredibly oily, my sex drive is through the roof, i can't sleep and when i do it's for very long periods of time, I stop going to the gym, lose my appetite and start having headaches and muscle pains all through my body.
I'm starting to wonder if it's due to the lower dosage of Estrogen I've been on since returning from my SRS.
I schedule an appointment with my doctor to have my levels checked. The results take 4 weeks to come back, all the while I'm taking my bi-weekly injections like a champ.
Well, the phone call eventually comes, it's my doctor. Says my Testosterone levels are 70 times normal(4 times where I was pre-spiro/hrt), my Estrogen levels are nil and wants to see me immediately.
Something told me to check my vial, yep, sure enough. Even though the outside "pill bottle" was labeled Estradiol Valerate, the actual ampule was labeled Testosterone Cypionate. Perhaps due to the "ate" at the end my brain was seeing the correct medication name, regardless as you can imagine I was devastated.
Everyone I spoke to intimated to me that this was a major screw-up, even my doctor communicated to me that this was a "big deal". To this effort I made several phone calls to several firms and private practice attorneys and wouldn't you know it. None were interested in taking the case, the negligence of the pharmacy, my suffering, time spent on additional blood work and doctor visits, time spent once again going through the laser hair removal process, my belief my voice has deepened, therapy sessions, lost days at work, and the rollercoaster hormone ride that is for the most part not fully understood in the medical field did not have the air of dollar signs pharmacy malpractice attorneys look for.
In short, this has been a nightmare within a nightmare. Ladies, check your vials, and hope what it says on the outside is really what is on the inside because if it's not you have no recourse other than choosing a different pharmacy.
