OK so I'm kind of terrified of having any kind of general anesthesia.   :P And was just wondering if something like peri could be done with a local anesthesia?  Especially if my chest is SUPER small?  Or are there any other kinds of procedures that can be done with out having to be put out?  Maybe even like lipo??

My guess is probably not, but it never hurts to ask, right?

No.

I know they can lipo out a certain amount, but most breast tissue has to be cut out I believe.

I understand your concerns about general anesthesia but overall it is pretty safe. Most people have no problems or complications afterwards with anesthesia. Some people might get nauseous or puke (I did once) but that's no big thing. Before top surgery many doctors have you get a physical and bloodwork to make sure you're healthy enough before surgery.

Maybe if you only need keyhole. If I were you, I'd start researching top surgeons and writing to them to find out what kind of surgery you need and, if you can get away with keyhole, whether you can do it under a local. I believe peri is too invasive for a local.

It's possible if you have very, VERY little tissue to remove. Some surgeons use local for revisions. I've also seen a video of a gynecomastia surgery being done under local, but the amount he was removing was very small--basically just a puffy areola.

Nice! Can you post a link to the video so I can compare mine to theirs?

OK. Thanks man.  I don't want to puke either.  I hate puking lol.  :-X

Great! I might only need keyhole once I get on T and lose a little weight.  ;D

Marc Dupere, in Toronto, performs double incision surgery under local anesthetic. I had surgery with him in 2006 (I opted for general) but know several people who've gone for the local and are happy with their experiences.
