Yes after I exfoliate & epilate leaving my skin very soft. I started exfoliating first after Kristi suggested it for someone else-it really makes a big difference in how smooth it leaves the skin.

No, I don't shave my arms.

A couple of years ago I was complaining to my gynecologist about the hair on my arms. She stuck out her arms and showed me that she had more than I did.

I also remember my mother telling me how she and her sisters would remove the hair from their arms by holding them over the cook stove and singeing off the hairs. Ouch! Yes, she said it hurt but it got rid of the hair.

I used to have to shave them though prior to HRT, but now they are virtually hairless.

Several times in the very early stages I had my arms waxed and maybe once or twice they were shaved.  However, after a period of time while on hormones, I basically forgot about the hairs on my arms and hands and the reason for this was the actually hairs where extremely thin and they lost their colour if they did at all.  The same thing applied with my legs although I had them waxed professionally and more often.  Sometimes I just wore stockings which solved the problem until I could have them silky smooth again.  Eventually they also become extremely thin, sparse and lost their colouring and eventually I also forgot about them.

I of course also noticed that there are a lot women out there who have a lot more hair or noticeable hair than I have, so all in all I have not worried about my arms and legs for at least 21 years.  Waxing or something similar is the better method of clearing them and you do not have to worry about them for at least 6 weeks or so.

Kind regards
Sarah B

Nah, and I don't think I will. I see girls at my school who have hairier arms than me.

I've been exfoliating after epilation thinking it would help close up the pores, but I'll try doing it before since I get those darn red bumps (on my face) really bad.

I use a epilator for my whole body. I have had some very good results even before starting HRT and I think a good epilator pays for itself.

i don't. i've seen a variety of women's arms, and noticed my arm hair is within normal female limits. my mom has none whatsoever. her's is so fine, you would need a microscope to see it. i've noticed the hairier arms on many asian women, italian women, and south american women.

I love my epilator too (I saved up and bought an Emjoi).  I use it on my arms now and then, but my arm hair is so sparse, thin, and blonde that I often don't bother to much now.

I never had much body hair (can't grow facial hair, chest hair, etc) but I shave my arms and legs (Which are really the 2 places that grow hair) every few months to keep them hairless

Yes, shave my arms maybe every 2 - 3 weeks, I like the smooth clean feeling.

I wrote a detailed thread with the help of my laser technician about the effectiveness of hand held lasers and the 'real' thing. You might want to chase it up. Following about 8 sessions my face, chest and tummy are essentially hair free (Yipee)

I asked my sister if she shaved her arms and she said no, so I figured that is not something you do, but, I just read something in a transgender newsletter that said its a must.  So, do you girls shave your arms (not under arms - I shave them).  I have fine blond arm hair, but still hair never the less.

I used to, until I noticed how it made the veins and muscles in my arm stand out even more.

I guess I'm just not that dysphoric about it. My genes never gave me much to begin with, and I'm a total hippie when it comes to women's body hair.

IMHO, though, I really don't think cisfolk pay all that much attention to arm hair. When I was shaving my own arms, it wasn't until people felt my arm that they noticed there wasn't any hair there.

Ah I've made over 5,500 posts so I'm not sure how to find it, sorry.
But basically an IPL laser pulse out 28watts per cm into my face (as much as I'm allowed by the tech). They cost about $150,000 and are very effective when used correctly. Any hand held device fades into oblivion in comparison
