Congratulations on 1 year. The video is very inspiring.

You're so lucky your parents let you play football. I always hated when it was parents day at school. My mom was so upset when she found out that I didn't really pay with girls. She didn't think it was right that I would play football. Never got to play it on a real team. I did manage to play on an intramural hockey team without her noticing.

Yea man, I definitely lucked out with my parents! They are amazing! I know my mom wanted me to do "girly" things when I was little, but she knew i wasn't into that stuff and they were good at letting me be myself. They let me pick out my clothes, pick how I wanted my hair cut, hangout with the boys (cuz I didn't like playing with girls), and they let me play whatever sports i wanted. I played football, hockey, soccer, basketball, baseball, & track growing up at different points in my life. They are truely awesome people! I wish all guys were as lucky!

Thats is amazing. My mom hyper-gendered so much. I was looking through a photo album the other day and there was a picture of me in a halloween costume. I was a pumpkin. She put a giant pink bow on my head to fem it up. I got my cousin to cut my hair when I was little, my mom freaked the ->-bleeped-<- out that I looked like a boy. I wasn't allowed to do something if there wasn't other girls doing it. It seems like I have very few pictures of my child hood that I will be able to share with others in the future.
I also did soccer and I played a lot of basketball with friends and for a little in highschool. My mom managed to run over the hoop in the driveway. I don't think it would have been as bad if she had an interest in sports. She didn't know a baseball from a basketball when I was little. She was never on a sports team. In gym she was asked not to play.
