The UNM Queer Straight Alliance hosts Jami­son Green, author of Becom­ing a Vis­i­ble Man, Fri­day, Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the UNM Stu­dent Union Build­ing ball­room C. Jami­son presents, "Iden­tity – cat­e­gory or inte­gra­tion," The event is free and open to the pub­lic.

Becom­ing a Vis­i­ble Man received the 2004 Sylvia Rivera Award for Best Book in Trans­gen­der Stud­ies from the Cen­ter for Les­bian and Gay Studies.

For more than 15 years, Green has been a direc­tor or advi­sory board mem­ber for many non-profit orga­ni­za­tions work­ing to improve health, safety, and civil rights for gay, les­bian, bisex­ual, trans­gen­der, and inter­sex peo­ple.
