My Mother would be Ashamed

In the past few weeks my mother used the words wussy, wimp, accusations of being gay, not a man, to my brother because my brother has been doing odd acts of immaturity more than usual. ( I am certain he is not gay, those words were more directed to his behavior)

Today, she came up the stairs, and exclaimed, "I have two daughters and a son". And it's implied I was the son, and my brother was another girl.

Still I got the message that even though this was a joke, it's still a kind of rejection in a sense, since if she could say that just about immature and wimpy acts my brother is behaving then what would happen if I done that?

*mind you I drop big bucks to my mother sometimes to help her financially

Then I told her, I will do anything for the money, and she was all accepting about it. And even said, I should open an adult superstore or a stripclub, adult-related stuff. She is interested in the adult industry as well.

so I don't get her how she could be so conservative about homosexuality, but liberal when money is involve in the sex industry?

I get the impression that she just has a rather distorted atttude toward women.

As you say, your brother isn't gay and presumably not effinate either. When your mother wants to shame him over his behaviour, the worst thing she can think of saying to him is that he is a girl.

Now I don't know your mom. But if she is in any way, intelegent, when you come out to her, she will most likely find herself re-evaluating her attitude toward girls. You are supportive and presumably have a good relationship, relaitively speaking. As good as any kid has with their mom.

It does suggest some of the things you need to think about.

The sex itself might be bad, iccky or whatever, but the money is always green and pretty.

I would sit her down and explain mysogyny and ask her if she hates her own femininity. Why else would she use being female as an insult.

I highly doubt she will react like she will want to if you give her money alot. That money can buy you some face time.
