GetEQUAL Responds To Local Trans Activist On DADT

A few weeks ago, local transgender activist, mother and former service member Brianne Blanchard sent PRIDEinUtah a letter asking GetEQUAL what, if anything, they are planning on doing for trans people who want to serve. GetEQUAL has responded, see their letter below!

Thank you to Heather, the managing director of GetEQUAL for taking the time to respond to us here. If you want to see Brianne's original letter, see HERE.

Thanks so much for your post, and a thousand apologies for the delay...

I really appreciate your questions — I always appreciate someone pushing all of us to keep moving forward and to be eternally unsatisfied with compromise. Yes, GetEQUAL is pushing for repeal of DADT this year, and will continue to do so. But no, it's not close to enough.

I was sent this great letter today by a local SLC transgender mother and Air Force veteran who had sent this in to GetEQUAL. Anyone care to give her a response?
