For me, I do love both, buuuut Star Trek wins for me. I love the detail in it for continuity. It's just the right amount, enough to get immersed but not too much to overwhelm you.

Star Wars however has the best table top RPG I have ever played, and i have both Trek and wars.

Sorry my Dear, but I have to go with Star Wars.  It CGI is a lot better, IMHP.  And the whole story line of how Vader becomes Vader and the back story of his own son destroying and freeing him.

Give in the the Passion, Jessica, and come to the Dark side.

Maddi

Ah! My arch rival! Lol.

Lucas graphics are truly some of the best. Vader is almost a modern Romeo in how he loses Padme. Plus, Star Wars has Boba Deft and Han Solo...The Solo man!

But I still think Treks Picard could out wit Vader.^_^

I love how Star Trek tackled controversairy issues before their time and subtley ... like when it visited a planet where everyone was in a same sex relationship and you were wrong if you were hetero.
  •

Constance

Star Wars for me, though I like both.

MillieB

No contest for me, Star Wars is a stunning epic love story that somehow managed to enthrall millions of young boys with the inclusion of some lasers and the worlds best baddie!

It also has Wookies!

Hrmm....Jar Jar Binks...vs...Shatner.  *shudder*  Is there a 3rd option?

Stargate maybe?  :D

Maddi

Instead of thinking of the Shat, why not use Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Franks, or even Michael Dorn. At least they talk with out the Shattner Pause. Lol.

Another fan of both here.  I voted Trek because I love to hear the 23rd century pseudo-science.  Also, Q.

I'm not really that fond of either, but Trek wins out because it has DS9.

DS9 was without doubt my favourite of the Star trek brand. Never watched Star Gate :embarrassed:

Stargate is worth watching if you like well-written, pulpy, light-hearted entertainment, with strong and well-portrayed characters, where good guys and bad guys are generally easy to tell apart, and everything turns out alright in the end. Well, SG-1 is - in Atlantis it gets a lot more morally grey on both ends. Not to say that SG-1 doesn't go some fairly dark places - just that it's rare.

That said, it's not high art or anything. But I enjoy it a great deal, particularly because of how light-hearted it is.

It's also a huge contrast with Star Trek, because Stargate's humor actually works very well - Window of Opportunity is the funniest single episode of any sci-fi show I've ever watched - whereas Trek's attempts had a tendency to fall flat (or worse - Profits and Lace, anyone >:( ?).

DS9 was very good. Or, it became very good, right about season... 4, I think? I just wish they'd gotten rid of their attempted humor-centered episodes, since those were generally atrocious. But the arc where DS9 was occupied by the Dominion and the Cardassians was incredible.

Actually I like Stargate Universe.  Pretty good to combine both the Gates and a ship.

Okay I'm a huge SCI-FI fan and I DO love Star Trek since I credit ST for making me love scifi in  general BUT I also LOVE Star Wars and it was the one movie that moved me away from my hometown and in too the film/TV industry. Not only that, but I Cosplay and make helmets and armor with my wifey to show off at Cons and charities. Nerds Rock!  :P

Another SCI-FI fan here.
Between the two and I like them both Star Wars get it.
But my all time favorite was the series Babylon 5.
As far as Star Trek I still enjoy the original series and DS9 the most.
Movies, I like 1953 Version of War of The Worlds film starring Gene Barry and Ann Robinson.
Oh and Robinson Crusoe on Mars 1964.
Jurassic Park
Mission to Mars 2000.
Avatar

Told you I loved SCI-Fi
