PC Nick Cummings, Community and Diversity Officer for the Aylesbury Vale Local Police Area (LPA) said, "The action group has already shown it is successful in raising awareness of homophobic and transphobic hate crime in Bucks, and we have seen the results of that in the crime reports that are being made. This kind of hate crime is very under-reported nationwide and this group aims to raise awareness of the issue, the response police and partner agencies will take in relation to a report of this type of crime, and increase the levels of third part reporting, making it easier for people other than a victim to make contact."

Members of the community, officers of the five local authorities in Buckinghamshire and Q:alliance ,the local LGBT charity in Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire, support the group and attend each meeting.

"Bucks"

Ah!--

It took me a moment.  As a yank, I don't automatically associate it with Buckinghamshire.

Herts and Berks also probably need a little explanation to those who grew up in the lands north of the country of Mexico...
