Lots of guys on here I've noticed seem to be complaining about the hair growth when on T. Something I've been wanting to know is downstairs, how bad the hair growth gets. I am worried about it getting...well...messy. Especially if I am still getting my period after I start T (which won't be for a while, but I still want to be prepared). Also my dysphoria will make it difficult as well. What advice can you give me?

That depends.  Does cousin It live in your basement?

Shaving can take care of the little problem.  If you haven't shaved before then use some blunt scissors and cut the majority of it away before shaving.  Or use a depilatory cream.  There is nothing to rubbing a bit of cream on and then waiting 10 minutes before rinsing it away in the shower.  You don't even have to look.

I know T increased my hair production all over my body but I keep the area in question so clean that I really can't tell you how much right there.

A lot of people gotta trim or shave to keep things under control down there. I'm already a pretty hairy guy so I use an electric shaver to manage down there. Shaving in the shower is a major pain especially if you gotta contort yourself to try and see what you're doing so you may wanna avoid that if ya can.

I haven't noticed any differences with pubic hair. I don't trim or shave or anything, but don't see a difference. I've heard the bigger problem is getting a hairy bum.

That's a good question. I keep learning new things all the time.

i use an electric razor but dont have any kind of a schedule...just whenever i notice its getting long/longer than i want. doesnt take long at all. very short and painless process before i shower

I use an electric clipper. no joke. I'm not sexual so I don't shave often. I don't think hair is disgusting down there on anyone if they are a clean person but I guess I think a little differently than a lot of people when it comes to that. I am VERY hairy. I'm 9 months on T and my entire stomach, chest, legs, and "downstairs" area is covered in hair. I am going to look like a wolf after 5 years on T lol.

I don't think it's possible for that area of my body to get more hair. I wouldn't say its more messy. If the blood is going to be there its going to be there just on the hair and not just the skin. Get some baby wipes or use tampons. It's only itchy the first few times you shave.

I was virtually hairless all over my body, thin clear hairs all over but no dark hair. I obviously had some hair down there but nothing insane. Now its pretty crazy. I'm starting to reflect my italian heritage haha. Down there went pretty crazy and it is still spreading more down my legs. I shave it every couple of weeks and let it grow until it is too long lol then shave it again.
Call me a cheat but I make my own fate.

This is one thing I am not looking forward to :( Ok one thing I am not too clear on. How do you shave without it not being painful??

I've only shave during a hot shower using plenty of shaving cream. It never hurt. Feels like shaving anywhere else to me.

Trimming is good. Shaving is good. I do some of both.

Not sure I have any advice on how to make it not painful; I've been shaving or trimming pretty consistently since I first got hair down there, because I found the itching intolerable and I hated it in association with all the other changes I was going through. It is easier when you stretch the skin tight. And don't use too much pressure. And use a high-quality women's razor, if you can stomach it; they're meant for bodies, so they have a broader surrounding surface that reduces the blade pressure against your skin, which seems to reduce cuts and increase comfort at the expense of just a little closeness.

I have always shaved downstairs - and the rest of my body for that matter - the only thing I leave is my face for a couple of days and a few chest hairs that I am proud of (lol!)
Shaving down below is a process though and you have to be careful (if you know what I mean!).
I try to use a different blade than I do on my face but generally it's a Gilette Fusion.

Oh and you do get hair on your ass....but that's easy to take care of....back hair is another issue.

God...I am making it sound like some sort of gorilla syndrome!

I normally don't think of shaving as painful. Why would shaving downstairs be painful? I know ya gota be careful, but I  don't see shaving as painful, just a pain to do.

Also,  how do you shave your back hair if ya can't reach it?

Maybe it was Bed Bath and Beyond that I saw it at but I've seen a mens electric razor that is on an extender type thing so guys can reach their backs. It looked easy enough to use.

Dominick_81

Cool. I'll have to check that out.

I saw something like that at Wal-Mart.  I'm totally keeping it in mind, and will be getting one if I get back hair.

I'm very interested in that cream. Is there a link or something I can have where I can order it online or something?

Be careful with depilatory creams. They work by literally dissolving hair, and if you have sensitive skin they can be extremely irritating. They also sometimes don't work very well on coarse hair.

Yeah T definitely made downstairs a lot more hairy. But if it makes any difference, compared to a lot of other guys on T I have gotten way hairier. That area in general is considerably hairier including my upper inner thighs near that area as well. It also seems as if the hair has gotten coarser. I use an electric beard and mustache trimmer and it has the removable guide comb on it so you can shave it to your desired length for the "upper part'  for the lower part that surrounds "that area" I completely shave that with a razor. I like to have hair on the upper area because it makes me feel more manly, but I do keep it trimmed as well as the inner thigh area.
