Hey guys,
When buying pants a few days ago I noticed that my hips are way larger than the rest of me, and the extra weight in my face just makes me more girly.  I really need to shrink down in order to pass.  I'm 5'7" and right around 240lbs and have been hanging out around this weight for quite a while.  It's time to change that.
Oh I'm a lucky man to count on both hands the ones I love

Good luck! I recently lost 22lbs in 5 weeks just from being vegetarian and about 4 hours of walking/swimming a week. It's totally possible if you are determined and stick to it.

Congrats niamh!  I wish I had the same results when I became vegan.  Oh well, now I just need to get off my lazy ass.  :P

I'm about in the same boat. I'm 5'8", 230lbs. I lost 10 lbs just from working regularly coming from doing nothing at home and eatnig everything. I'm not all cleaned up or anything, just do something now and again.

I suggest this site. I'm going for mainly his workout plans, but he offers some eating advice as well. He's a great guy.
His site is scoobysworkshop.com and it carries a lot of health information that he just has gained over his lifetime of lifting weights and eating right.

Hope that helps. I hope we both get to where we want to be. Good luck.  ;)
I'll be there someday, I can go the distance
I will find my way, If I can be strong
I know every mile, Will be worth my while

When I go the distance, I'll be right where I belong

Hey, thanks for the link Wolf!  His beginning workout looks like it would work well for me, so I'll give it a shot.  Good luck to us both!
