Just bear in mind that it does matter how you stop as long as you do.  Vexing stepped down, I am doing the Chantix, some do it the cold turkey way.  But we all quit.

and I don't think anyone would say they wish they hadn't.

You quit when you're ready  :) (if you're not ready, you do the half-assed attempts at quitting, then start again)
I was plenty ready and kinda only kept going because of the social smoking crowd at work.
